OVERVIEW
The Amarnath Yatra is one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimages, undertaken to the Amarnath Cave in Jammu and Kashmir, where a naturally formed ice Shivling is worshipped as a symbol of Lord Shiva. Held annually during the summer months, the yatra attracts thousands of devotees from across India and abroad. Pilgrims can reach the shrine via the traditional Pahalgam route or the shorter but steeper Baltal route. The journey takes place in the Himalayan mountains and requires proper physical fitness, medical clearance, and registration, making it a spiritually enriching as well as physically challenging experience
