Sri Lanka, also known as the “Resplendent Isle”, is special due to its diverse landscapes, rich history, and unique cultural blend. It offers a mix of stunning beaches, misty mountains, ancient cities, and abundant wildlife. The island’s strategic location has made it a crossroads of civilizations, leaving behind a legacy of temples, colonial architecture, and vibrant cultural traditions
Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), you will be greeted with a warm welcome and assisted with your transfer to Kandy, located 115 km away. En route, depending on your flight time, you may choose to visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (optional), a sanctuary established in 1975 to care for orphaned and injured elephants. Here, you can witness these gentle giants as they bathe, play, and socialize in their natural environment, while also learning about the orphanage’s important conservation efforts.
In the afternoon, embark on a Kandy City Tour, which may include optional visits to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic and the beautiful Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens. Explore the scenic Kandy Lake, stroll around its charming streets, browse through the local market, visit a fruit shop, and explore a gem gallery to see Sri Lanka’s renowned precious stones. In the evening, you may also opt to witness the Kandyan Cultural Show, where vibrant costumes, traditional dances, and rhythmic drumming bring the island’s rich heritage to life.

En route, stop at the Ramboda Falls, Sri Lanka’s 11th highest waterfall, cascading down 109 meters in foamy beauty. You will also visit the Bhaktha Hanuman Temple, home to an 18-foot statue of Lord Hanuman, an important stop on the Ramayana trail.

Spend the day discovering the serene beauty and cultural heritage of Nuwara Eliya. Begin with a visit to the Seetha Amman Temple & Ashok Vatika (optional), a site steeped in the legends of the Hindu epic Ramayana. This sacred location is believed to be where Sita was held captive by King Ravana, and its tranquil surroundings make it a deeply spiritual stop. The nearby Hakgala Botanical Garden adds a lush floral backdrop to the area’s charm. Continue your exploration with the Nuwara Eliya City Tour, including Gregory Lake (optional), perfect for a lakeside stroll or a peaceful boat ride in the crisp mountain air. Victoria Park (optional) offers vibrant flower beds, quiet pathways, and opportunities for birdwatching, while a visit to the Strawberry Garden lets you see (and taste) the region’s fresh produce.
